Carmina McGee, MS, RD, LE
Carmina brings a unique blend of education and experience as well as deep compassion to her work as a clinical nutritionist / registered dietitian and a health and well-being guide.
In addition to her expertise in health and nutrition, she has worked and consulted in diverse areas, including integrative skin care therapy, skin care product formulation, vocational rehabilitation counseling, and disability management consulting. Along with having been a sought after speaker and trainer, she has extensive counseling experience and her work has taken her to national and international venues.
Carmina works from a Functional Medicine/Nutrition approach in her work with clients. This science-based field of health care deals with primary prevention and underlying causes of chronic diseases, rather than simply addressing symptoms. She incorporates mind-body medicine and works in collaboration with professionals in various fields of health and healing, including Chinese medicine practitioners, holistic health care specialists, nurse practitioners, physicians, and psychotherapists.
Carmina believes that one of the keys to health and well-being lies in taking care of the spirit as well as the body, as it is impossible to separate the two. She supports and encourages her clients to incorporate this aspect as an essential component of creating a true sense of well-being.
Carmina has served in numerous volunteer positions, including the Cancer Center and the Chaplain's department at St. John’s Regional Medical Center, Oxnard, CA.
Carmina earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Dietetics at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo and a Master’s Degree in Nutrition at California State University at Northridge. She is also a Licensed Esthetician.
She is currently in private practice, in Ventura California as a clinical nutritionist and provides consulting to hospitals and physician groups.
